So we are finally fortunate enough to replace the “Quick Chat” that never lived up to it’s name. I am so happy to be rid of it, it was slowing the entire site down.
The new chat is at the bottom of the page, check it out and let me know what you think!
Here are some of the features of the new chat center:
- Real time text chat
- Full Page Mode: Launch Chat into a separate tab
- Public rooms/Private Rooms
- Instant messaging/Private Chat
- Post Youtube videos (thumbnail with link) simply by entering the url of the video.
- Upload images
- User profiles
- Country Flags
- Coloaborative document
- Two player games
- Split-screen Mode: Show the chat side by side with your site
- Language translation feature
- Customizable smileys/avatars
- Customizable sounds
It should work on the computer, your phone and your tablet. 🙂

I really like it. I love that you can play games with another user as I am not so good with the whole talking thing… The best part is that it speeds up the load time of this site.

Is there anyway of seeing who is online and in chat before you log in ?
At the moment you have to log in to see if anyone is waiting in the chatroom or on the site .

Not that I am aware of at the moment. The chat prevents that from happening for privacy reasons.
But the old chat wouldn’t allow it either, we used the site’s who is online widget to show the users that were currently online but that didn’t necessarily mean that they were available for chat. I think that confused people a little.

Right ,yes I understand .
I know people who saw people online expected them to be in chat before and that did cause confusion .
Oh well we will just have to keep signing in and checking then 🙂
